First Responder Lockbox Program
At
4 Good Community, we proudly partner with local police, fire departments, and emergency management services through our
First Responder Lockbox Program. This innovative initiative ensures that first responders have
24/7 secure access
to our Kids 4 Good Centers across the region.
Why It Matters?
When emergencies strike—whether it’s a house fire, flood, or a family crisis—first responders are often the first line of hope. By equipping them with direct access to essential resources inside our centers, they can immediately provide:
- Emergency clothing for children and families displaced by disaster
- Basic supplies such as food, hygiene items, and blankets
- Comfort and care packages that bring stability and encouragement during critical moments
But this program goes beyond crisis response. Our First Responder Lockbox Program also empowers local heroes to deliver upliftment and hope throughout their daily community interactions—helping families not just survive, but thrive.
How It Works?
- Each participating firehouse, police department, and EMS team receives Lockbox access codes unique to their agency.
- The boxes provide round-the-clock entry to Kids 4 Good Centers, ensuring no family in need has to wait for support.
- Centers are stocked with clothing, food, home goods, and special care packages, all donated by community partners.
Community Impact
- Currently Serving Evansville and Henderson Areas
- Strengthening trust and partnership between first responders and local families
- Extending our mission of spreading Unity, Hope, Love, and Light into every neighborhood we reach
Partner With Us
If you are a police, fire, or EMS leader, we invite your department to join the First Responder Lockbox Program. Together, we can ensure no child or family is left without hope when it matters most.
As a police officer and community mentor, I've seen firsthand the incredible impact Kids4Good has in Henderson. Their commitment to supporting families in need, paired with the lock box access our department has for 24/7 assistance, allows us to respond quickly when someone in our community is struggling.
I mentor a student from a single-parent household with four children. Their family has very limited resources, but thanks to Kids4Good, he was able to personally pick out Christmas gifts for his siblings and his mom. Having the independence to choose meaningful gifts and bring joy to his family was a powerful experience for him.
On another occasion, I helped a youth in foster care who needed new clothes in uncommon sizes that are hard to find. The staff at Kids4Good worked with me to locate several pairs of pants and shirts, ensuring that this young person had respectable clothing to wear with dignity.
Most recently, I was able to pick up two baby changing tables for a local community space that serves low-income families. Before this, there were no changing tables available. Because of Kids4Good, the space can now better support mothers and children without having to divert funds from other critical services.
These are just a few examples, but they demonstrate how vital Kids4Good is to our community. Their resources, their staff, and their partnership with local law enforcement truly make a difference - often in ways that might seem small but have a lasting impact on the lives of families and children.
